Something is bubbling in year 5... Volcanoes!

Year 5 have have begun to put together a dance, based on their topic of Natural Disasters. They have been thinking about how a Volcano behaves. They looked at this poem:

The Volcano

Smoking and smouldering
Menacing gloom,
Trembling and shaking
Impending doom.

Louder and stronger,
Imprisoned rage,
Angrier, fiercer,
Final outrage.

Explosion, then free
Ruthless and flaming,
Devouring and frightening,
Down to the sea.

Explosion, then free
Ruthless and flaming,
Devouring and frightening,
Down to the sea.

How does this poem make you feel? Stay posted, as Year 5 venture towards what promises to be an explosive next few weeks, and an amazing dance. I can't wait!!

Warming up in our new Dance studio....

Thinking about the shapes the Volcano could make....

 Getting the starting positions right...

Checking what would work best...

The lava flows.. then cools into shapes.

And finally observing so we know what we did well, and what we will be working on to imporve it!

Year 5 .. you worked really hard, not as easy as it looks!
